Combining the outstanding performance of the Xerotherm with additional thermal layering, the Xerotherm Arctic is the next stage in the development of a high performance system for divers in the most extreme environmental conditions.
Warm
Using a combination of fast wicking, high insulation fabrics, the Xerotherm Arctic creates a micro climate around the wearer, keeping the body dry and warm. A high density inner fleece provides superior insulation, with maximum comfort and wicking, whilst the outer layer, which has a water repellant finish, ensures a snug fit.
Versatile
Suitable for year round use underneath neoprene drysuits or summer use under membrane suits, the Xerotherm Acrtic, builds on the performance of the Xerotherm baselayer to be the perfect lightweight undersuit for dry suit diving.
Testimonials
Innes McCartney, wreck diver and author of several diving books
"I tested the Xerotherm Arctic in Northern Ireland in November - despite a leaky drysuit which resulted in me being soaking wet, I was warm during my dives, thanks to the Xerotherm Arctic."

'COMFORT, FLEXIBILITY AND WARMTH' |
|
| Strengths: |
The set is exceptionally warm, with minimal bulk. The fleece material is nice against the skin and it has suffcient inherent stretch to enable increase mobility in use. The two-piece design is like a tracksuit, so is more comfortable and 'main-stream' for pre and post-dive activities. |
| Weaknesses: |
As with all Fourth Element clothing, it is costly. However, it does compare well against the cost of simular performing all-in-one undersuits. The two-piece design can lead to 'builder's bum' if you don't tuck everything in well when donning your drysuit. After 60+ dives, I have noticed that the fabric has begun to 'pile' where it rubs against the drysuit. |
| Overall: |
I dive with this under a trilaminate drysuit and it keeps me perfectly warm year-round. It can even be too hot in summer months. The fleece is very comfortable against the skin, giving a nice snug feeling and serves to 'wick' away perspiration. I like the fact that the set is split into top and bottoms...as this seems more 'normal' (like a tracksuit) when you take your drysuit off and go to the pub post-dive. I also like that the suit gives a superior freedom of movement - especially around the shoulders. This is a major bonus for twinset divers. having it available in two-pieces also means that you can better choose the correct sizes...especially useful if you are a stumpy legged, barrel chested lump like me! |
