The first important difference in the M-14 is that the lens and frame have been made dramatically bigger compared to conventional product.
The second important difference is that the distance between the lens and the eyes has been reduced. To increase the field of vision in a mask, the lens must be brought closer to the eyes. To achieve this, the M-14's frame was made as thin as possible, and the fitting line was moved slightly to the outside. By moving the fitting line up to the middle of the forehead, the distance between the lens and the eyes is further reduced and a wider field of vision (both above and below as well as left and right) is achieved.

I started diving some thirty odd years ago, yes, when masks were oval shaped and had little sticky-up bits where you put your fingers in to clear your ears, that is both index fingers at once or index finger and thumb of one hand. Not very good but it was how it was done. I then stopped diving for some years and have recently come back to it wondering why an earth I stopped! Still that's another story. After buying a few modern masks, some rather expensive, I discovered that they had to be the type that were solidly mounted from
the strap to the front of the glass at the sides to make a good watertight seal. If they had soft
mountings, even though very expensive they leaked! Okay it is the shape of my face but I
now know other divers suffer from the same complaint. I also had to wear them too tight in
my opinion to get the seal to work properly. All the ones I tried like this also had a restricted
vision. Hooray! at last I have found one that I can hardly notice on my face. It is the TUSA
visulator. Absolutely brilliant! Not only does it fit comfortably but it has a great visual field. I
can see straight down at equipment, pockets and the like and also to the sides much better
now. If you have a broad face or forehead try this mask. |

Somebody has done a really good design job and it's much cheaper than some I have already bought. Anyone want to buy some masks?
