I have been using this BCD for 5 years and it is perfect for me.
Completing a couple of hundred dives a year I wanted a BCD that was comfortable and streamlined, without all the bulk of jacket style BCD's. The Lady Hawk has everything I was after.
The back inflation design allows for excellent and easy positioning in the water and provides ample lift.
Particularly when used in conjunction with the Air 2 Inflator, streamlining is easily achieved.
The design is tough and durable, apart from annual servicing; I have never encountered any problems with it.
There is one fold out pocket on the right hand side to store accessories and 4 well positioned metal D Rings to clip just about anything you may need on to.
My only complaint would be that it lacks a left hand pocket as on the Knight Hawk, which would be handy for carrying a safety sausage or dive knife.
The fit allows for ample adjustment so the BCD will fit snug over a thick Dry Suit, as well as rash vest and shorts.
While on the surface, there is a very comfortable neck roll to allow total relaxation and comfort when swimming on your back or just chilling waiting for the boat.
This BCD is not for everyone. Some enjoy traditional jacket styles with ample pocket space, but if you are after snug streamlined diving, this is the BCD for you.
Weight pouches are easily inserted and removed, even when wearing thick gloves. There are also 2 non dumpable pockets at the rear which can carry up to 2.5kgs each and can assist with creating the perfect distribution, especially when wearing a thick suit.
The inflator stays put throughout the dive and is easily accessible. There are also 3 dump valves to allow quick and easy dumping regardless of what position you are in.
The tank bands metal snap lock system is easily adjusted when wet or dry and once locked in place is very secure.
The shoulder straps are secured with rotating pinch clips for added comfort and are easily opened even when wearing thick gloves. They are also positioned further apart than standard designs to allow for delicate area in between.
The BCD cummerbund is also adjustable allowing for the perfect fit. There is also a chest strap for added security. Owing to the back inflation design the waist strap can be pulled tight to minimise drag even further.
All buckles are secured with easy open pinch clips.
All in all everything you would expect from a BCD, in a comfortable sleek design, available in Black/Grey and Black/Blue. Comfort, Streamlined, Tough, Reliable, Durable, Known and trusted Brand, all at the right price - What more can you ask for?
