Scubapro MK2 Plus / R295 / R295 Octopus
Introduced in 1962(!) the Scubapro MK2 plus has a track record few other other scuba regulators can compete with. Combined with the R295 Second stage, the R295 Octopus and a pressure gauge or console you will have a set with a track record few other regulators can beat.
This first stage is built on a downstream piston design, the simplest way to build a first stage. In many other areas simple is a bad thing, but when it comes to first stages for scuba diving, simple is good. The simpler a first stage is, lesser things can go wrong, and this results in a first stage with fantastic performance and easy maintenance. It's small size and great reliability makes this a really good companion for travellers.
The R295 Second stage and Octopus is based on a downstream valve, this means that it opens in the same direction as the air flows. A small spring is used to counteract the incoming air and close the airflow, to open the airflow the diver just has to start breathing and the spring will open the airflow and allow the diver to take a breath. This simple function is one of the most classic ways to build a second stage and it results in a second stage that is safe and reliable. The R295 uses a technique called "Fixed VIVA" (Venturi Initiated Vacuum Assist) flow vane that is pre-tuned for safe and uncomplicated use and to even more increase your convenience, the R295 is compact, lightweight and uses a Orthodontic mouthpiece. The R295 Octopus is the same seconstage as the R295 and this ensures you that your Octopus will give you the same performance as your second stage.
The Scubapro Console and Pressure gauge uses Luminous dials for its displays. This means that the background in the displays can be seen even or darker conditions. Together with other safety features like the zero to 50 bar red zone on the pressure gauge and the top side loop for attaching lanyards makes these good, safe and reliable instruments for all condition.
If you are looking for a classic combination that just works, the MK2 plus together with the R295, R295 Octopus and a pressure gauge or console is the combination for you. We know many Dive centres around the world that uses this regulator everyday 365 days per year, and the regulators are always doing their job. It's simplicity and reliability you can trust.
